IN THE BACKYARD

Bali is famous for its gazebos, which are available along many roads, primarily produced by small family businesses. For ages, they have used coconut wood which is abundantly available on the island. Coconut wood, however, is not a tropical hardwood but a softwood and is loved by termites.

(*) Coconut wood is one of the most preferred sources of food for termites due to its softness and cellulose content. You need to implement almost constant maintenance to avoid the termites' attack and leave you with a pile of wood dust. Tropical termite-resistant hardwood is not the source of food these creepy crawlers are looking for.

We mainly produce gazebos of the highest quality from tropical hardwood. The materials used are termite-resistant Bangkirai hardwood (*), stainless steel grade 316 fixtures, Bali-style terracotta roof tiles, or 5 mm thick Iron wood shingles, or natural thatch with an inside roof cladding from class "A" bamboo matting. All wood will be coated with a 3-layer Acrylic coating. We issue a conditional warranty on our gazebos. Use our contact form for a price inquiry.

Standard dimensions of the gazebos range from 2 x 2 meters (6.5 x 6.5 ft) up to 5 x 5 meters (16.4 x 16.4 ft). Larger sizes can be custom-made.
The standard size of the teahouse gazebo (model p6): 3 x 3 meters (9.8 x 9,8 ft) and 4 x 4 meters (13.1 x 13.1 ft).

There is no price list available for the gazebos, the reason being that there are too many different build options. You may choose one of the standard types shown below and let us know what the size will be and what needs to be added, such as elevated deck + steps, railing, and which build option is required for the type of roof decking, (terracotta roof tiles, wooden shingles, thatch), including the choice of the interior roof cladding (bamboo matting, rattan, wooden slats).

2. BALI STYLE TEA HOUSES

Available sizes: 3 x 3 meters (10' x 10') and 4 x 4 meters (13' x 13'). Contact us via our  < contact us > form for a quotation.

We produce original Bali-style tea houses according to the decades-old Balinese cosmological order which underlies the Balinese people's lives, as well as the way of thought and a window into their minds.

The tea house is specially designed to be built in tropical areas. It has a double sliding entrance door fitted with tempered glass and a double mosquito screen door. The small openings between the glass sliding door and the sliding screen doors are closed using nylon brush seals to prevent flies, bugs, mosquitoes, and other insects from entering the house. The structural parts and flooring of the tea house are made from termite-resistant tropical Bangkirai hardwood. Sidings from tropical Camphor wood. Fixtures from stainless steel, grade 316. Roof decking from either ironwood shingles or Bali-style terracotta tiles. Be so kind as to let us know which roof decking option you prefer, should you inquire about a price.

The tea houses include the electrical design; however, international regulations do not allow us to install the electrical cables, sockets, and switches. Our drawings are allowed and can be used by the electrical contractor for a full installation.  The tea house does not require a building permit in the USA and most other countries.
