SITE VISITS AND INSPECTION
(NOTE: Site visits will only be carried out for projects in Bali)
THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING A PHYSICAL SITE VISIT
A. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The purpose of Site Visits is to allow us to obtain a better understanding of site conditions and the work required, as well as gather quality information and familiarize us with the status quo. Verify if there are access roads for an unobstructed supply of materials.
Attending site visits, whether mandatory or not, has many benefits and can provide an advantage in the proposal preparation process.
Joining in on Site Visits gives us the opportunity such as listed below:
♠ Evaluate ability to meet the project requirements,
♠ Understand site conditions and upcoming challenges and adapt a suitable plan,
♠ Determine accurate resource and material allocation,
♠ Comprehend the Scope of Work to better create the bid price,
♠ Ability to gather questions regarding the site.
Before visiting the site, we will review available documents, a Scope of Work, drawings, and designs, if any, This will help us understand what specific questions the client may have.
We will take pictures during the site visit which will be a reference for certain aspects of the site when we prepare the technical proposal or prepare a cost quotation. We will make extra pictures and will pay special attention to areas of the site that might provide potential problems or concerns.
B. ADVICE AND RECOMMENDATIONS
After a site visit we will advise and recommend on the best type of foundation, the potential bottlenecks on space and/or availability of sufficient land for the installation of the prefab units(s) and accessibility to the site, We will map obstructions, such as existing structures, trees and other obstacles. We will indicate if excavations and/or landfill are required. Will be required. We will also indicate where the approximate setback lines will be. A technical report will be drafted and submitted with our findings, advice and recommendations.
C. COST PROPOSAL FOR A SITE VISIT AND INSPECTION
We will not make a site visit until we have obtained approval for our cost proposal to cover our costs. The cpsts will imply:
♠ Local travel costs from our office to the site and back,
♠ The time required for 2 of our crew to execute the visit and inspection against an hourly rate,
♠ Reimbursement of the cost for the use of our digital distance meter and the level instrument, if any
♠ Reimbursement of the cost for the time required to prepare the technical report,
