CYCLONE RATED DOORS & WINDOWS

Please be informed that, - except special-ordered Bali-style carved doors and ornaments -, we only produce doors & windows solely for our prefabricated wooden houses. We do not sell the doors and/or windows separately.
The doors & windows that are shown on the next pages are intended to provide information to potential buyers of our wooden houses about type, style and hardware used.

Hurricane rated

Cyclone door or impact door or window ratings are based on how much wind force a door or window and all of its components (the frame, all of its hardware, etc.) can withstand. This is measured by pounds of pressure per inch, otherwise known as “PI.”

The level of PI you need varies by what type of environment your facility is in. If you have a facility that’s located directly on the beach, in a hurricane-prone area, it could require a PI of 70 or 80, while a facility located further inland might only require a PI of 60. The average wind force in the area needs to be taken into account when you decide which level of PI is needed.

There are several tests that the doors and/or windows need to be put through before they receive the cyclone-rated seal of approval. Testers must see if the door and all of its components can stand up against certain amounts of wind pressure, water infiltration, and debris impact. If the products make it through those tests, they are qualified as “cyclone-rated.”

Our company does not have such special testing facilities available (and they are not available in the whole of Indonesia), and as such we are unable to test. To this end we propose to the client that we source such doors and/or windows outside Indonesia from renowned companies and adapt our designs to the shape, type, and dimensions of their product. Many types of cyclone doors and windows are available.
